EGI NOW - Since Rise Together, what have we been up to?

2024 has been an incredible year for Egi Women as we continue our mission of supporting and uplifting women in our community and beyond. Since our  Women's Day Weekend in March, we’ve kept the momentum going with several noteworthy initiatives and partnerships. Here’s a look back at what we’ve been up to from April through October 2024.

Building Meaningful Partnerships at Home and Abroad

This year, we’re proud to have formed meaningful partnerships with local, regional and international organizations dedicated to causes close to our hearts.

We joined forces with Sagicor for two significant events. First, in June, Egi Women and Sagicor organized a Blood Donation Drive for World Blood Donor Day, to support a cause that saves lives. Then in July, we partnered with Sagicor to host a second Women & Wealth Masterclass driven by the high demand from the first. The inspiring C. Natasha Small led our session once more and shared valuable expert insights on personal finance for women from all backgrounds, empowering attendees to take control of their financial wellness.

Our partnership with CIBC First Caribbean brought additional opportunities to make a difference. In October, we supported CIBC’s Paint for the Cure fundraising event, which raised awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Our Founder, Gina Cummins, also delivered a memorable keynote at CIBC’s Women’s Network Session on “Personal Branding: The Female Professional Perspective.” Her talk emphasized the importance of strong personal branding for women looking to advance their careers, providing practical tools and inspiration.

Encouraging Health & Wellness: Pink Corner Campaign

October was also marked by a special collaboration with Diagnostic Medical and their Pink Corner campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This initiative aimed to promote breast health by encouraging women to stay proactive about their wellness and schedule regular mammograms.

Listening and Learning: Research and Community Insights

Understanding the needs of our community is essential to our mission. That’s why we’ve been conducting pulse surveys and focus groups during the year to gather insights from Egi Women. By hearing directly from our community about their challenges, needs, and goals, we can shape our future initiatives accordingly. Our goal is to maintain this dialogue so we’re better equipped to offer support and resources that are both relevant and impactful - and able to find the right partners who share our vision.

Spotlighting Women’s Stories and Preparing for 2025

This year we’ve resumed our storytelling efforts, sharing the inspirational journeys of women who are blazing new trails in their careers, communities, and personal lives. These stories remind us of the resilience, creativity, and strength that women bring to every sphere of life.

As we look forward to 2025, our team has been busy these past few months preparing for Women’s Day Weekend 2025. We’re excited to announce that we’re already connecting with influential speakers, industry leaders, and global brands to make next year’s event the most impactful yet!
